The Mission of Black Forest Chapel

The Mission of Black Forest Chapel is to equip God's people to share Jesus Christ in Black Forest and around the world.

Our mission is based on two primary passages which are representative of many of other commands given to the church.

Matthew 28:18-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Ephesians 4:11-13

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

There are two primary action words in our mission statement: equip and share.

Equip God's People

1. Preparing believers means helping them
   • Establish a personal walk with Christ
   • Acquire a biblical foundation
   • Understand their gifts and abilities
2. Training believers means
   • Teaching them how to live
   • Modeling how to live
   • Teaching them how to do ministry
3. Mending believers means
   • Biblical counseling and discipleship
   • Building healthy relationships

Share Christ

1. We share Christ through our life example
2. We share Christ through serving and acts of love
3. We share Christ through the message of the gospel
4. We share Christ through missions: going and sending
