The Welcome Desk is the main destination for first-time visitors, as well as regular attendees seeking information about the ministries of BFC. This role requires a welcoming, smiling, outgoing personality and a good understanding of the ongoing ministries of BFC, in order to be able to share accurate information. Training is provided!
Time Commitment
Once per month (Sundays, 9:30 am – 10:15 am)
Provide care for babies through preschool age while their parents participate in the worship service. Arrive early to offer a warm welcome and smooth drop-off, learn to use our safety and check-in/check-out systems, deliver a short lesson (prepared and provided for the volunteers) to the preschool-age children, and create a nurturing environment in which to share the love of Jesus with our youngest BFCers.
Time Commitment
Once per month (Sundays, 9:45 am - 11:30 am)
Care for and teach kindergarten – 5th graders through Bible stories, crafts, songs, and fun! Help them to know about Jesus’s love for them as they build friendships with other children. Learn to use our safety and check-in/check-out systems and help direct children to the Activity Center after worship. Two roles are available: Teachers prepare and give a lesson from the provided curriculum. Helpers assist the teacher as needed.
Time Commitment
Once per month (Sundays, 10:25 am to 11:30 am). For teachers, prep time for the lesson (30-45 minutes during the week).
Serve at our student ministry meetings to help those in our Student and Young Adult Discipleship Ministry know they are loved, accepted, and important, and that their Creator God loves them beyond what they can sometimes see.
Time Commitment:
Two hours, once per week
Gather every 4th Sunday evening to pray for needs within the BFC church body and praise the Lord for His goodness and love. Other prayer groups also meet throughout the week. Contact the church office for more information.
Time Commitment
Sundays, 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm, as you are able to attend.
Help to connect the heart of God with the heart of God’s people during Sunday morning musical worship. Requires skill in singing and/or on an instrument.
Serve as part of a team to provide an atmosphere of worship and opportunity for all present to sing praises to God.
Time Commitment
Varies, depending on interest and availability (generally, Sundays 8 or 8:30 am to end of worship service, plus mid-week rehearsals)
As a part of the Welcome Team, provide a warm welcome to all who come in the front doors by opening the door, offering a bulletin, and sharing a smile, handshake, and introduction as needed.
Direct first-time visitors to the Welcome Desk, or families with children to the check-in kiosk foe Nursery or Chapel Kids.
Time Commitment
Once per month (Sundays, 9:30 am to 10:15 am)
Prepare and serve coffee on Sunday mornings. Training is provided and the espresso machine is easy to learn! Two rotating roles are available:
Prepare drip coffee and restock supplies as needed (arrive at 8:30 am)
Prepare made-to-order drinks (arrive at 9:00 am) and provide a welcoming smile and an encouraging word to regular attendees and newcomers while they wait.

One or two times per month (Sundays, 8:30am -10:30 am)
BFC supports missionaries in various places locally and globally in their sustained effort to bring the Good News to people with the aim of leading them to Christ as their Savior. We also value local outreach and seek opportunities to serve our community with the love of Jesus.
Join the Outreach and Missions Team to pray for our missionaries, bridge communication between our missionaries and the congregation, and as a member, help make decisions about financial support for our missionaries.
Time Commitment
Once per month
Three roles are available in our AVM Ministry. Support the Sunday morning service by mixing Audio at the soundboard, operating the Video system, or displaying Media and lyrics using ProPresenter.
These vital, behind-the-scene roles involve using technology to make the service sound good and allow it to be streamed online. Training is provided!
Time Commitment
Once per month (Sundays, 8:15 am to end of worship service, plus occasional mid-week rehearsals)
Maintain the BFC facilities and grounds and help with upgrades/improvements to provide a beautiful and functional environment in which the various ministries of BFC can take place.
Many roles are available, including interior building maintenance, lawn and outdoor care, and general handyman work.
